At People Effect, we believe that the use of Myers-Briggs® in the workplace should be about promoting self awareness and celebrating diversity, not putting people “in a box”. Whilst it can certainly highlight a persons potential strengths and opportunities, it is by no means an indicator of someone’s ability, or how good they are at something, when referenced in isolation. Myers-Briggs® should provide a foundation for ongoing coaching discussions and development, both at an individual and team level.
Team building is about encouraging your people to learn about themselves, each other and their leaders . This is facilitated in the context of how they work together to maximise team and business success, and of course have some fun along the way!

MBTI® provides an accessible framework for understanding human behaviour and a common language to discuss that behaviour in a constructive and an empowering way. Because of its positive orientation, it encourages openness and can help build trust within the team.
The positive approach that MBTI® takes towards the differences between people means that all types are equally favourable. This often results in a spirit of co-operation and most importantly a sense of humour and fun when exploring and resolving the team’s interpersonal conflicts and differences. Teams walk away with an understanding and respect for the diversity in the group that will pave the way for more open communication and a decrease in conflict resulting from differences in style and preferences.
